Simon Plouffe vit et travaille comme cinéaste à Montréal / Tiohtià :ke / Mooniyang. Il a étudié la scénarisation à l’UQAM et le cinéma à l’Université Concordia. Son film L’or des autres (2011) a été projeté au Dok.Fest Munich et au Big Sky Film Festival. Ceux qui viendront, l’entendront (2018) a remporté le prix du jury au Festival du film d’Ann Arbor et le prix du meilleur son au Gala Québec Cinéma en 2019. Son court documentaire exploratoire Forêts (2022) a été présenté dans des festivals tels que le Festival du film de Cracovie et le Festival du film d’Édimbourg, ainsi qu’au Hong-gah Museum à Taiwan. Il a reçu le Prix Art et expérimentation aux Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma et le Prix du jury au Festival du film de Trente en 2023. Les yeux ne font pas le regard (2024) a été projeté au RIDM et a remporté le Prix du meilleur documentaire social au Festival de Cine de Bogotá. Son plus récent film, Des grues et des voix, sortira en 2026.

Simon Plouffe lives and works as a filmmaker in Montreal / Tiohtià:ke / Mooniyang. He studied screenwriting at UQAM and film production at Concordia University. His film Others’ Gold (2011) was screened at Dok.Fest Munich and Big Sky Film Festival. Those Who Come, Will Hear (2018) won the Jury Award at the Ann Arbor Film Festival and Best Sound at the Gala Québec Cinéma in 2019. His exploratory short documentary Forests (2022) was presented at festivals including Krakow Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Film Festival, as well as the Hong-Gah Museum in Taiwan. It received the Art and Experimentation Award at Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma and the Jury Prize at the Trento Film Festival in 2023. Seeing Through the Darkness (2024) was screened at the RIDM and won Best Social Documentary at the Festival de Cine de Bogotá. His latest film, Cranes and Voices, is expected to be released in 2026.
